The asterisk, known as a wildcard, searches for any word or phrase you include. Place OR (all caps) between two words to combine searches. Use it to search for results that have one of those words but not both. Place AND (all caps) between two words if you want your results to include both.

If you would like to see a history of the pages you've visited, choose "Your data in Search" in the Settings Menu. This will bring you to your "Search History" Page in Google. You (and Google) are the only ones who can view this page. It's useful for finding sites you've visited but can't remember.

However, sometimes our systems can't find much information that seems reliable and matches the words in a search. When our systems find fewer indicators of reliable results, you might get a message at the top of search results that says “It looks like there aren't many great results for this search.”

Tip: You can also use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + f (Windows, Linux, and ChromeOS) or + f (Mac) to find a word or phrase quickly. You can find more info about a specific word or phrase on a page.
